Dear Madam/Sir:
I urgently need your help in getting word to
your students about college scholarship money that is available through the
Friends of 440 Scholarship Fund, a charitable organization comprised of
people who work in the Florida workers’ compensation system. The bad news
is that applications are due on or before Sunday, February 28, 2016. The
good news is that students can download the application and submit it on or
before February 28, and then supplement the application with
any missing information, like tax returns or a grade transcripts, for
example. NOTE: Even though the Friends of 440 Scholarship website
indicates that an application will not be "processed" if there is
missing information, the application itself will be considered timely if
it is filed on or before February 28, 2016. The application will then
move forward in the process when the missing information is submitted. ANY
POTENTIAL SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT WHO NEEDS HELP IN DOWNLOADING AND/OR COMPLETING
THE APPLICATION CAN CALL ME ON MY CELL PHONE WHICH IS (904) 728-2582, AND I
WILL ASSIST THEM IN MAKING A GOOD FAITH EFFORT TO COMPLETE
THE APPLICATION AND GET IT SUBMITTED BY THE DEADLINE.
I'd now like to tell you a little bit about
our organization. The Friends of 440 Scholarship Fund is a charitable
organization that grants scholarship funds to deserving kids whose
parents are involved in the workers’ compensation system as, for example,
lawyers or legal assistants, insurance adjusters, medical personnel who treat
workers’ compensation patients, and, of course, injured workers. Our
scholarship is available to kids who have the talent, the financial need, and
the necessary connection to the workers’ compensation system. High school
seniors must have a 2.7 GPA to apply and scholarship recipients must maintain a
cumulative 3.0 GPA and have at least 12 credit hours per semester, in order to
remain eligible for funds.
APPLICATIONS FOR SCHOLARSHIPS MUST BE RECEIVED
BY FEBRUARY 28, 2016. THE APPLICATION IS ON OUR WEBSITE AT: WWW.440SCHOLARSHIP.ORG.
