Frank M. Eidson, P.A., Scholarship Essay Contest

Frank M. Eidson, P.A. is proud to present their first essay scholarship contest. The first prize is $1,500, the second prize is $1,000, and third prize of $500.

The contest is open to Florida high school seniors who are on pace to receive their High school diploma/GED within 9 months, and have been accepted into a higher learning institution within Florida. The deadline for entries is May 15, 2015.

FAMU J.R.E. Lee Scholarship

The J.R.E. Lee (Jacksonville) Chapter of the Florida A&M University National Alumni Chapter will award up to seven (7) $1,000 scholarships to Jacksonville Area high school students. Applicants must meet the following criteria:

1. Applicant must be accepted to attend Florida A & M University as a full time student for the Fall 2015 Semester
2. Applicant must be a high school senior attending school in Baker, Bradford, Clay, Duval, Nassau or St. Johns Counties
3. Applicant must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or above

Duval Association of Educational Office ProfessionalsScholarship

Four $1000 scholarships will be awarded.

Candidate Eligibility Criteria:

1.  Candidate must intend to continue his/her education after graduation.

2.  Candidate must be a graduating high school student from a Duval County Public School who has made application to continue his/her education.

3.  Candidate must have applied as a part-time or full-time student in a post-secondary institution

MANDARIN HIGH PTSA SCHOLARSHIP

DEADLINE MAY 1, 2015

The PTSA will grant two scholarships of $250.00 to Mandarin High Students whose ethical values relate directly to those established by the National, Florida, and local PTSA.  The selection shall not be based on sex, race, nationality, religion, or physical disabilities.

CRITERIA:
1.  The student must have a minimum 2.5 GPA
2.  The student must attach a copy of their acceptance letter to a university, college, junior college, or vocational school.
3.  Applicants should demonstrate exemplary qualities of leadership and community involvement.
4.  Financial need will be given consideration.
5.  Preference will be given to the student who will not be receiving scholarship, such as, athletic or academic, including Florida Bright Futures Scholar.
6.  This is a one-time scholarship.
7.  A faculty recommendation is required with the application.

The Centurian Club Incorporated Scholarship

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
High School and College Students Applicants
Deadline: June 14, 2014
This Scholarship was established by the Centurian Club Incorporated to provide financial incentive for students in the City of Jacksonville, FL.  The Executive Board of Directors will accept applications for students with the accomplished goals listed in the Qualifications section (see below).  A $1,000.00 grant will be the incentive given annually to a qualified applicant.
 QUALIFICATIONS

  • Maintain A/B Honor Roll during an application period (September-December); and (January-March)
  •  Active member of a volunteer non-profit organization in the community
  • May be a continuing college student who graduated from Duval County high school within two years
  • Full time student attending school in the Duval County Public School System or an accredited Undergraduate four-year college; or vocational school

Jax Chamber Mandarin Council Scholarship




To qualify, the applicant must:

•Live in one of three Mandarin zip codes: 32223, 32257 or 32258
•Be a graduating high school senior or 1st or 2nd year college student
•Plan to attend/be attending post-secondary school.
•Pursue a degree to be used in a business career.
•Must have worked while attending high school •All paperwork must be completed and returned by the deadline of April 30th

Eligibility


To be eligible for this scholarship, an applicant must:
1 be a 2015 graduating senior of a Florida high school;
2 be a member of your schools PTA/PTSA or the Sunshine State PTSA; Note: The PTA/PTSA must be in good standing. Verify this information about your schools PTSA at http://www.dccpta.org/goodstanding. If your school does not have a PTSA, you may join the Sunshine State PTA at http://floridapta.org/index.php/about-us/membership/sunshine-state by completing the form and returning it with payment.
3 have an unweighted cumulative high school grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale;
4 submit completed application form, including reference letters and transcript Cumulative Summary page (in a sealed envelope), and essay pages to the DCCPTA, Attention Scholarship Committee, postmarked no later than March 31, 2015.

Jacksonville Asian American Alliance Scholarship

2014 JAAA Scholarship

Application for the 2015 JAAA Scholarships is now open!
Five (5) $500-scholarships are available.
The deadline for applications is April 18, 2015.
Program Overview
The Jacksonville Asian American Alliance (JAAA) College Scholarship Program recognizes academic excellence, extracurricular activities and community involvement among high school seniors planning to pursue a baccalaureate degree at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States. This year, the program will choose five scholars who will be awarded $500 each towards college costs.
Eligibility
(1) Must be a resident of Duval, Clay, Nassau, Baker, and St. Johns  Counties for at least 6 months
(2) Must have been accepted to an accredited four-year College or University
(3) Must have a weighted GPA of 3.9 or higher
(4) Must have participated actively in community service
(5) Must be a US legal resident
(6) Must be of Asian descent
Requirements
(1) Complete and submit Application Form
(2) Submit letter of acceptance to a four-year college or university
(3) Submit two letters of recommendation from individuals who are familiar to applicant’s character and achievements.
(4) Submit high school transcript
(5) Submit SAT or ACT scores
Deadline for Submitting Applications: April 18, 2015 (must be postmarked 4/18)
Presentation of Awards:  Award will be presented at the student’s school year-end awards ceremony by JAAA.
JAAA will present the acholarship awards at the student’s year end awards ceremony to honor the selected students in front of their fellow students and family.
