I am writing on behalf of the University
of North Florida’s Intercultural Center for PEACE (ICP), which provides
support services and personal growth for traditionally underrepresented
students and collaborates with the UNF community to create a just campus.
I
am writing to you today to invite your 2016 graduates who will be attending UNF
in the coming school year to apply to our Quality for the
Ultimate Educational Success Today (QUEST) Program. QUEST is a
year-long experience of academic and personal development for underrepresented
incoming college freshmen at the University of North Florida. QUEST aims to
ease the transition from high school to college by helping students acclimate
to the academic and social aspects of college life.
Please find the program details, eligibility requirements,
and application information below. We would so appreciate if you would share
this transformational opportunity with your students who are eligible. We have
also sent direct invitations to all eligible admitted students for summer and
fall 2016. Please do not hesitate to be in touch if you have any further
questions.
QUEST Intensive (June 15 – July 1, 2016)
QUEST begins with an intensive two-and-a-half-week
orientation to the University, which includes:

Becoming familiar with university services and resources
·
Learning about opportunities for involvement in campus life
and student activities
·
Connecting with other incoming and returning UNF students,
including a UNF peer mentor
·
*Please note that housing is not included in the Intensive

QUEST and Beyond (Ongoing)
QUEST participants meet regularly throughout the academic
year to build community, develop leadership and personal skills, and receive
ongoing support in their first year of college. The Spring Semester will
culminate with a First Year Capstone, in which the group will celebrate their
accomplishments in their first year.
Students who complete the program are eligible for a $500
scholarship. ICP understands that the transition from high school to college
can be challenging, and we have heard from many past participants that QUEST
has been beneficial as they adjust to this new environment.

Florida for Summer B or Fall 2016 as a first-time incoming college freshman
