Florida Retired Educators Scholarship

A scholarship for any student who is interested in becoming a teacher.

The scholarship will pay students:
$500 for the first year
$750 for the second year
$1,000 for the third year
$1,000 for the fourth year

Living a sustainable lifestyle requires dedication and passion. Anyone who makes sustainability a priority has their own particular reasons for doing so—some live sustainably to help protect the environment and limit our reliance on precious natural resources, and others do so to help build a better future for generations to come.
Here at Good360, we work hard to help companies reduce their waste outputs and total carbon footprints by donating excess stock or products to nonprofits in need. For the Good360 team, living sustainably means that we do everything we can to limit waste production, protect valuable natural resources and improve the lives of those in need. A better, more sustainable future, to us, is one where we do more with less, and where we all work together to build stronger, and more efficient, communities.
We want to hear how sustainability has touched your life. If you’re a high school senior applying to college, or you’re currently a college student, and you have an interest in sustainability and the environment, then we’d love to hear your thoughts on what sustainability means to you. Thus, we’re sponsoring a college scholarship with an award of $1,000 to go towards tuition.

In order to be considered for the Good360 sustainability scholarship, we want to hear from you: What do you do to live sustainably? Post a photo on Instagram with your 200-300-word essay explaining what sustainability means to you and complete the form below. We’ll choose one winner to receive our environmental scholarship, which is open to all majors.

1. Have completed 50 hours or more in volunteer work over the last 2 years.
2. Maintained a GPA of 3.5 or greater over the last 2 years

USF Scholarship for Incoming Freshmen

Students need a 3.5 GPA, 1250 SAT or 28 ACT

The scholarship covers tuition and fees, funds for textbooks and other course materials, housing and meal plans for each semester, education abroad experiences, academic conference travel support, and specialty equipment for course work.

JAXSPORTS Charities Award of Excellence Scholarship- Deadline November 20th!

The annual scholarship will be awarded to four deserving individuals: two males and two females in a one-time award amount of $2,500 each.  The scholarship recognizes students in their senior year of high school that have a strong commitment to athletics, exemplify good citizenship through community service, and posses strong leadership qualities.

Scholarship recipients will be honored at the TaxSlayer Bowl on January 2, 2016.

Eligibility Requirements:

•  3.0 Unweighted GPA from a high school in Florida's First Coast area
• Participate in a junior varsity or varsity sport or its equivalent (dance, gymnastics, etc)
• Participate in extra-curricular activities through church, school, and the community 
• Pledge to remain drug-free, alcohol-free, and tobacco-free
• Exhibit exemplary behavior, thereby being a good role model for peers
• Attach Guidance counselor reference letter 

 Selection Criteria

• Presentation of application packet- neatness and organization
• Scholastic record
• Athletic commitment- participation in varsity, intramural, or youth league sports
• Career goals of applicant
• Involvement in extracurricular activities

Aspiring Nurse Scholarship

Hello!

I wanted to make your students aware of a scholarship opportunity. Nursing Schools Almanac has just launched its second annual Aspiring Nurse Scholarship. Our website will award a $1,000 scholarship to an aspiring nurse who best demonstrates:

+ A track record of academic excellence, particularly in science and mathematics

+ A passion for the nursing profession and the overall field of healthcare

This scholarship is open to all high school seniors who plan to pursue college education in nursing, including LPN / LVN, ADN, and BSN programs. Scholarship applications will be accepted until midnight on June 30, 2016.

Local awards; local impact. Every AXA Advisors branch office nationwide distributes up to twelve $2,500 awards in their local area. Scholarships for local young people as they take their next step toward college and awards for local schools as they take steps toward enhancing their teaching and professional development.

What does it take to become an AXA Achiever?

Our scholarship winners are known as AXA Achievers. They are ethnically and economically diverse, but they share these qualities:

• Determination to set and reach goals
• Respect for self, family and community
• Ability to succeed in college
  

Who is eligible?

Student applicants to the AXA Achievement^sm Community Award must:

• Be United States citizens or legal residents living or claiming residency in one of the 50 United States, Washington, D.C. or Puerto Rico.
• Be current high school seniors who plan to enroll full-time in an accredited two-year or four-year college or university in the United States for the entire 2016-2017 academic year.
• Demonstrate ambition and self-drive as evidenced by outstanding achievement in school, community or work-related activities.

Because reducing risk is woven into the fabric of our company, special consideration is given to achievements that empower society to mitigate risk through education and/or action in areas such as financial, environmental, health, safety and/or emergency preparedness.

Holocaust Reflection Contest

Dear Florida Educator You and your school have already been invited to participate in the 2015-2016 Holocaust Reflection Contest hosted by Nova Southeastern University and sponsored by the Holocaust Learning and Education Fund, Inc. This initiative for Florida middle and high school students is an opportunity for them to reflect on the timeless wisdom and lessons of Holocaust survivors—while applying for a chance to win a trip to Washington, D.C. This is a reminder that the contest application opens on December 1. If your students are going to participate, they are required to submit their entries (an essay, poem, visual art piece, or short film) using our online application, which will be made available at the Holocaust Reflection Contest website December 1, 2015–January 22, 2016.
